women to reclaim their health

A little about me

Like many before me, I began my Natural health journey searching for answers. Cervical radiculopathy (a disease of the spinal nerve roots & nerves), led to spinal fusion in my neck. Sadly this was not the “fix” that I thought and left me existing for four years in debilitating chronic pain.

An ever-changing, massive cocktail of heavy-duty opioids and neuropathic pain medications such as Lyrica, not only did not touch the sides of the pain but also left me unable to string a sentence together

When I began studying the BHSc Naturopathy, I was wearing fentanyl patches 24/7. The adverse side effects of the drugs, the impact of living with constant pain were starting to take their toll on my nervous system.

By good fortune, I had a change of GP. She had personal experience of chronic pain and worked with an integrative approach. Collaborative care from a team of professionals, fine-tuning my nutrition and gradually replacing opioids with herbal medicine changed my life!

A woman is like a tea bag – you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.

I hear you

about me

To the woman who has lost her spark.
To the woman whose get up and go, has well and truly gone.
This is for you.
This is to remind you whose daughter you are
This is to remind you that you don’t have to be everything to everyone, every day.
You didn’t sign up for that.
Remember when you used to laugh? Sing? Throw caution to the wind?
Remember when you used to forgive yourself more quickly for not always being perfect.
You can get that back again.
You really can.
And that doesn’t have to mean letting people down or walking away.
It just means being kinder to you, feeling brave enough to say no sometimes.
Being brave enough to stop sometimes.
And rest.
It starts the moment you realise that you’re not quite who you used to be.
Some of that is good, some of that is not.
There are parts of you that need to be brought back.
Is it time?
